THANK YOU!!!!!!

The Holiday Hope Ministry was a big success again this year. We delivered 60 boxes of groceries to families in need. Mike and I want to thank everyone who helped. If you did not deliver a basket this year, please make a commitment to do so next year. You will be blessed.
We received 20 names from the school system,9 veterans and the balance from all of you. This is an outreach to our community and we hope that some of the families will stop by and worship with us. If you see a new family, please make them feel welcome. We have all brought glory to our Lord by having a loving and generous heart.

A message from our pastor:
Brother Philip McMurrin

Thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:12).

Oct. 31, the calendar date for Halloween— the night of tricks and treats, is less commonly known as All Saint’s Eve, the night to prepare for the All Saint’s Day Celebration on Nov. 1. True, this practice isn’t that popular among American Protestants. Mostly, we find ourselves engaged in dressing up like spooks and carving Jack-o-lanterns, poking a little fun at the dark side. Maybe, too, we use this night of candy and costume as a way to mark the ending of Harvest and the coming of winter. But more importantly, we should take time to prepare ourselves to remember the Saints of God.
In the 7th Century when the church transformed a pagan ritual into a Christian festival, only those Christians martyred under Roman persecution were honored. Then, sometime during the 10th century, the festival was changed to include all Christians who had died.
The word “saints” is translated as “holy ones” in the NIV, as “believers” in the New Living Translation, and as “faithful Christians” in the Message. It refers in a special way to the Christian martyrs, but also to all believers, both those who have gone to be with the Lord in heaven and those still living out the faith on earth. Our faith holds that one day all the dead in Christ shall rise and return with him on the day of his appearing.
The church does not forget its dead for we share with them an inheritance in the kingdom of light. Though you and I can’t name every Christian who has ever lived since Jesus’ day till now, we still highly regard their contributions, sacrifices and legacies. Without them, churches around the globe wouldn’t have the foundation of faith they have.
Think over your life. Who influenced you for Christ? Some are still living, others have died. How will you commemorate them? Perhaps, the best way to do this is to live your life as to be counted worthy of the calling of sainthood.
Brother Philip

A message from our
Youth pastor

"I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live." Psalm 116: 1-2.

"For you O Lord, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living." Psalm 116 8-9
The Lord tells us no matter what we are going thru He will help us through it. He says He will never leave us nor abandon us, especially in our times of need. For in this life we will have times where the only one we can turn to is Him. Job and Joseph both lost everything. All they had left was their faith in God. Job had one calamity after another struck upon him and Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. But neither cursed God. Instead they continued relying on God and the Lord brought them thru it. Just like He brought the Israelites thru the Red Sea. And He can bring us thru as well!
We need to reach out our hand to Him, like a child does to their parent to help them walk and He will take it! Jesus said "I will always be with you!"
This is a truth that you can take to the bank! "Turn your burdens over to the Lord and He will take care of you; He will never let a rightous person stumble." Psalm 55: 22
God Bless!
Erik

Of which every man has many
not on your past misfortunes,
of which all men have some.
